Colostrum itself has no known severe side effects. The only reported discomfort from taking colostrum is abdominal discomfort and possible diarrhea. These symptoms many times are the result of taking too much colostrum too quickly or in the initial stages of colostrum supplementation. These side effects are rare and not severe.

In some cases, as a result of the flushing out of the toxins that reside in the body, flu-like symptoms have been reported in the early stages of colostrum supplementation. This is not because of the colostrum, but because of the toxins being removed from your body. These symptoms are short-lived.
